Suicide Prevention Month

DISCLAIMER: If talking about suicide is a triggering topic for you, please don’t continue reading.

More than 800,000 people have died due to suicide, which is one person every 40 seconds.

I made a post on my Instagram about this at the beginning of the month but I like to share more information on this topic on my blog. We need and can’t be afraid of talking about suicide. Since my content is more geared to people my age, I want to talk about this for people to care more. I believe that we need to be able to have this conversation and help people in the process. I would love to share signs, their thinking process, and ways you can help them. I hope this helps people learn more about this topic. If this is a triggering topic for you, please don’t continue reading. 

Also, I’m no way a professional, and this is only to help people understand a little bit more. 

The Mindset

People who have the mindset of wanting to kill themselves believe that is their only solution for their situation. They lose interest in things they care about the most. Examples are family, hobbies, their future, etc. They tend to believe themselves as a burden to everyone. This perception leads to the belief that others would be better off without them. They might feel unable to cope with the difficult feelings they are experiencing. These feelings may build over time or might change from moment to moment. And it’s common for them to not understand why they feel this way.

How They May Think Or Feel

  • hopeless, like there is no point in living
  • tearful and overwhelmed by negative thoughts
  • unbearable pain that you can’t imagine ending
  • useless, not wanted or not needed by others
  • desperate, as if you have no other choice
  • like everyone would be better off without you
  • cut off from your body or physically numb
  • fascinated by death.

What They May Experience

  • poor sleep, including waking up earlier than you want to
  • a change in appetite, weight gain or loss
  • no desire to take care of yourself, for example neglecting your physical appearance
  • wanting to avoid others
  • making a will or giving away possessions
  • struggling to communicate
  • self-loathing and low self-esteem
  • urges to self-harm.

The Warning Signs

Sometimes it is hard to see the signs of someone that feels suicidal. They can hide it or be outspoken about it. It all depends on the person that is suffering from it. Knowing the signs of a suicidal person will help you find a way to help the person. This is some possible warning signs that the person may be at risk for suicide:  

  • Talking about wanting to die or kill oneself
  • Looking for a way to kill oneself
  • Talking about feeling hopeless or having no purpose
  •  Talking about feeling trapped for being in unbearable pain
  •  Talking about being a burden to others
  •  Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs
  •  Acting anxious, agitated, or reckless
  • Sleeping too little or too much
  • Withdrawing or feeling isolated
  • Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge
  • Displaying extreme mood swings.

What You Can Do To Help

 If you think that someone is feeling suicidal, encourage them to talk about how they feel. It can be hard to make them open up but allow an open mind and comfort might help make them feel confident to talk about it. You might feel uncomfortable talking about suicidal feelings but this is normal and understandable to feel this way. So here is a list of things that might help you when talking to a suicidal person. 

  • Let them know that you care about them and that they are not alone.
  • Empathize with them. You could say something like, ‘I can’t imagine how painful this is for you, but I would like to try to understand.
  • Be non-judgemental. Don’t criticize or blame them.
  • Ask about their reasons for living and dying and listen to their answers. Try to explore their reasons for living in more detail.
  • Ask if they have felt like this before. If so, ask how their feelings changed last time.
  • Reassure them that they will not feel this way forever.
  • Encourage them to focus on getting through the day rather than focusing on the future.
  • Ask them if they have a plan for ending their life.
  • Encourage them to seek help that they are comfortable with.
  • Follow up on any commitments that you agree too.
  • Make sure someone is with them if they are in immediate danger.
  • Try to get professional help for the person feeling suicidal.

What won’t help someone who is feeling suicidal

  • Try and find an easy solution
  • Telling them to ‘cheer up’, ‘pull themselves together’, or ‘snap out of it’
  • Change the subject
  • Telling them they have no reason to feel like that
  • Telling them that they should be grateful for having a good life

What to do if someone wants to commit suicide 

If you see someone that wants to attempt suicide here are some things you can do to help them. 

  • Don’t leave them on their own
  • Remove items that they can end their life with 
  • Call 911 
  • Tell a family member or friend right away what’s going on 
  • Encourage the person to call a suicide hotline number 
  • Get help from a trained professional

What To Do On A Lazy Day

We all have those busy weeks where all we do is work, eat, sleep, and repeat. I remember in my second year of high school I took all AP and Honors classes and was on the high school tennis team. I was so stressed, overworked, and tired every week. It was a nightmare, and that whole year I was burnt out. If you haven’t felt being burnout before, it is the worst feeling. You feel exhausted, frustrated, extremely stressed. So having lazy days helps me not get at that point. So I listed a couple of things I like to do on a lazy day when I’m taking a break on work or even life in general. I know we all have busy lives, and we can’t just take a break when we want to, but we have to be able to have those days or even a day to relax and do nothing. So here is something you can do on a lazy relaxing day.

Read A Book

When was the last time you read and complete a book? Being part of Generation Z, we don’t read books often, only if it is part of a school assignment. But reading helps strengthen the brain, reduce stress, and increase empathy. I like reading books about fantasies, mystery, biography, drama, etc. Reading a book on lazy days helps rewind and relax. It clears the mind and makes you focus. Without that said, sometimes reading can be exhausting when you first get into it. But lazy days are meant to do nothing to pick up a book and read. 

Connect With Friends

When I mean connect with friends I don’t mean hanging out. Having a lazy day means doing nothing that is not important. Don’t get me wrong, having a social life is important, but when it is a lazy day you should just call them. Contacting friends after a long busy week is so good to do when you probably haven’t talked to them in a while. I usually talk about life and my newest drama. Having a chat with a friend bonds your relationship with them and can make their day.

Since we are all in quarantine, you probably have watched everything there is on tv, but binging shows and movies can be relaxing. During the week, I get busy with school and work that I have no time catching up on my favorite TV shows. So I use my lazy days to get caught up on those shows and movies I miss out on. It is not good to be a couch potato but having those days where you just relax and watch a whole season in a day is fulfilling.

On the weekdays, I don’t get as much sleep that I need. I go to bed at 1 a.m. then try to wake up at 8 a.m. I have a really bad sleep schedule, and it does help when I have a lot of work. So on a lazy day, I sleep. It helps me catch up on sleep I lost over the week. I don’t recommend sleeping all day because it will ruin your sleep schedule. Sleeping can balance your appetite by helping to regulate levels of the hormones ghrelin and leptin. Those hormones control our feeling of hunger and fullness. Sleeping also gives you a better immune system. When you don’t get enough sleep you can increase the risk of certain cancers, diabetes, and also cause thinking issues. Make sure you get enough sleep on lazy days.

Clothing Stores For Broke Teens

If you didn’t realize already from the title, I’m a broke teenager. I don’t like asking my mother for money and I feel as though I should work for it. It is not that I can’t ask my mom for things, it’s just I would rather work to buy my clothes. I love going shopping, but it is hard because I don’t have money to spend. I even do this thing where I go on the store’s website or app and save items to my cart so I can plan outfits if I where to buy them and don’t buy anything at all. But anyway, this blog post is about clothing stores that are inexpensive for a broke teen. I shop at all these stores, and I love to share them with you. 


As a teen, finding inexpensive high-quality clothes is very hard. Boohoo is a good store that is cheap and has good quality clothing. But there can be some clothes that are a miss but overall very good. I love to get my casual dresses and fancier tops. The average price range is $20. The company launched in 2006, and their goal is to have your individuality reflecting your style.


I love wearing oversize clothes sometimes, and Missguided is my go-to store in this category. Missguided is a UK based clothing store but has stories around the world. Their average price range is around $20, and I love getting oversized clothes and bodysuits from there. The store has good promotions and has student discounts too. They have high-quality clothing and are great for the street style look. Not to mention, but if you are a tall girl like me, then this store is for you. 

Forever 21

I obviously had to put this store in. Everyone knows this store, but it is the number one store that is known for its inexpensive clothing. It has a lot of different styles and clothes can start-up to $5. I get everything there and love their swimsuits and sports bras. If you ever need something then Forever 21 will have it. 


If you are trying to find inexpensive, trendy clothes then PrettyLittleThing is an excellent store for that. Every single item fits every aesthetic that you can imagine. I usually use this store to try trends that I like to involve in my wardrobe. I also love getting swimsuits there. The average price range is about $17.


I added H&M here because it is very inexpensive and affordable to teenagers. The store aesthetic is simple and basic. I love shopping here for basic tank tops and crop tops. I also love their men’s hoodies that are so comfortable. The company’s average price range is around $12.99. I have shopped there multiple times for basic everyday tops. 

Being a teen with no money to spend is hard. Especially when we can’t get jobs because of the pandemic. I hope this blog post helps you with finding inexpensive stores to shop. You don’t have to wear expensive clothing to dress nicely. Thank you for reading this blog and see you next week. 

My Favorite Netflix Series You Should Watch

Since I have been inside for the past four months, I have watched a lot of Netflix and Hulu. The shows that are listed in this blog are some of my favorite Netflix series that everyone will enjoy. They are shows that I can watch multiple times and not get tired of them. I usually like all types of shows and sometimes it’s hard to find good shows to watch when there are thousands of them. I want to help people that are bored and don’t know what shows to watch. Sometimes I feel like I watched every show there is on Netflix until people told me to watch a show. I hope this blog helps with your boredom and here is my favorite Netflix Series you should watch. 

I didn’t realize this before until I was writing this blog post but the shows I have listed do kind of have dark meanings. And it kind of makes me seem like I’m a dark person but I promise I not but I do love dark meaning shows.

The Haunting of Hill House

If you are into scary mystery shows then this one for you. The Haunting of Hill House is about a family that has been through traumatic paranormal experiences that affect their relationship with each other. The children, which are now adults in the show, witness their mother die in the house they grow up in. The house is known to have a paranormal activity which is the result of them having mental health issues and their family problems. I wasn’t very interested in shows or movies that had paranormal activities because I get scared easily but this show has a great balance. I’m not going to give too much information about this show because I feel that you have to kind of be clueless to enjoy the show. This show will make you think as though you miss something. The Haunting of Hill House has only one season and ten episodes. 


Okay, I have to warn you this show is very good but if you don’t like serial killers or police shows then this is not for you. The MindHunter is set in the 1970s and is about two FBI agents that want to attempt to understand serial killers by studying their damaged psyches. The agents talk to serial killers to help solve the cases around the topic. The show is also based on a true story and was made from a book. The show has two seasons, which includes ten episodes in each, and was Oscar-nominated. They are making a third season too. I love shows about serial killers and involves thinking. This show is not boring and involves a lot of thought. 

The Umbrella Academy

I have always been in love with comic book movies and shows. The Umbrella Academy is about a billionaire who adopts seven children that are all born on the same day. The children all have powers that he trains and called them the Umbrella Academy. The show starts with introducing the six surviving children, now adults, characters, and the knowledge about their father’s death. I love the show so much that I’m not giving more information. I want you to be surprised when watching it. The Umbrella Academy has two seasons and ten episodes each. Both of the seasons are great and I would recommend this to people that don’t like the action but want to get into it. This is the best show for beginners of comic book action movies and shows. 

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Here I go again with the dark shows. If you heard of or watch the 1996 Sabrina the Teenage Witch show then you do have to realize that yes it is the same but has a darker meaning. It has a different plot than the original bubbly and bright one. Sabrina in this show is a teenage girl that has conflicts with her path of being half-witch and half-human. While keeping both worlds separated from each other. She goes on adventures throughout the show and discovers hidden truths about herself and the death of her parents. The people that made Riverdale also made this show but it is ten times better than Riverdale. The show has three seasons and includes eight to ten episodes. It is also based on a comic book; which I didn’t know until I looked it up for research. They are coming with a final season too. I recommend this show to people who like the original one and Riverdale. I’m saying this again to make sure I’m clear, Sabrina is nothing like Riverdale so don’t make that shy you away from watching the show.

The False Theory of Fake It Till You Make It

I decided to write about my experience with the theory of fake it till you make it. It’s where you pretend that you are confident to eventually have confidence. The phrase technically not a theory but a mindset that people use to achieve what they want. I have not seen someone write about the false side of this theory. I am not saying that it does not work, but I am just saying there is a chance the theory would not work for you.

My Research For This Blog

People have always said when you have fake energy of confidence then you will eventually have confidence within yourself. However, it has not worked for me. 

While I was doing my research for this blog, I realized lots of people like me have gone through this too. I read other blogs explaining how they found confidence by conquering their insecurities and not having a fake persona. 

My Experience With This Theory

My biggest insecurity, which I thought at the time was the biggest one, was not seeming weird to people. I did not know how to start or end a conversation, and it always felt awkward. I used to hate small talk and meeting new people. I started using the fake it till you make it theory, to make it seem I was very outgoing. Then I felt like I was hiding a part of myself that made me who I was. 

My friends were always saying they wish they had as much confidence that I do. Which hurts to know most of the time I was pretending. I felt like people did not know the real me and they liked how I was faking it. 

The theory made me feel much worse about myself than before. It did not help conquer my insecurities, but brought it to light. It just showed how I was putting on a fake persona of confidence and inside I was drowning with insecurities.

What We Should Be Focusing On

It took me a long time to embrace my insecurities and not hide those anxious thoughts. I started researching how to have confidence. I looked at videos, articles, and even books about gaining confidence. But the current trending problem with all of my research was they did not explain to me how to conquer your insecurities.

I was overwhelmed with the number of people telling me to do other things than face the core reason; my insecurities. You would hear people always say look at things that you like about yourself. Meanwhile, we should be focusing on the things we do not like about ourselves. 

We love as humans to not focus on the real reasons we feel a certain way and get distracted by making other problems. If you learn how to embrace your insecurities you will feel more confident in yourself. Learning how to love yourself does not mean loving some parts of yourself. We have to get used to our insecurities and not hide them away.  

My Main Insecurity Realization

At the time, I sat down on the edge of my bed and wrote all my insecurities. I started fixing them one by one. Then I realize some of my insecurities were built to protect myself from the main issue; feeling of rejection. I feel as though that all problems are made by one big problem but just branched out into multiple ones. It is like a big tree with the branches being tiny problems, and the main problem is the trunk.

So I started with my major insecurity. I started reading books and articles about how to feel enough. I started doing exercises and mediation that helped me when I felt overwhelmed with anxiousness. I even started writing in a journal about my day and how I was feeling. These activities helped me fix my problem with feeling rejected and cleared out most of my insecurities.

I still have some insecurities which I am working on. I am a teenage girl that uses social media every day. But I have learned to embrace and conquer my insecurities. I still have a long way to go and I am happy to share my experience with the fake it till you make it a theory. I honestly do not recommend this theory whatsoever because it hides the main problems you have within yourself. Conquering your insecurities is hard to do but it is the only way we can truly be happy and confident.

How To Build Your Skincare Routine

Having a good skincare routine will help give you the results you want in your skin. When I was younger, I watched my sister try so hard looking for the right products that would help with her acne. She would try every product there was and still saw no results. Until she started making a skincare routine for herself that worked for her skin. It took her a long time to find products that worked, but she found a way to build her skin routine much faster and accurately. Since the products she uses worked for her, I thought it would work for me. Unfortunately her skincare routine did not work for me so I had to rebuild my skin routine from scratch. Which it took longer than I intend it to be. So I love to give you some helpful tips when building a skincare routine. It does take a longtime to perfect but we learn from our mistakes and thrive.  

Learn Your Skin Type

Learning your skin is not hard to do but can take some time to understand. There are so many different types of skin. Some are dry, oily, and combination. Different products work better on different types of skin. Knowing your skin type would make it easier to find the right products that work for you. Forinsteads, if you have oily skin, find products that are oil-free. Or if you have dry skin, then find products that are more hydrating. And if you have combination skin find products that are both oil-free and hydrating. Learning your skin type is important to find the right products to use for your skincare routine. 

Start With Cheap Products Than Go Up From Their 


We would all think buying the most expensive products means it works better than the cheaper products, but sometimes it’s not the case. You can tell when something is overcharged because it works the same way as when it’s cheaper. Our world is so materialistic that we think buying expensive things would work better than when it’s  cheap. I’m not saying that all expensive skincare products don’t work but you have to look at the cheaper products first then go to the expensive products. It is way better to not waste your money on an expensive product that you can find a dupe that is inexpensive. I have wasted so much money on thinking the most expensive skincare products will work for my skin. Remember don’t always think expensive skincare products will always work on your skin. Start cheap than work your way up.

Read The Product Ingredients

Knowing what you put on your skin can help understand why a product gives you issues. You’ll be surprised to know there are skincare products that irritate and damage the skin. So to avoid that look at the ingredients on the back of products to be safe. Things to avoid are products with fragrance, aluminum, and sodium laureth sulfate. Do your research on the product to know if it is safe for you. When I was younger I didn’t look at the ingredients of any product and I didn’t understand why I was breaking out more and my skin was irritated. I had to learn the hard way and finally looked at product ingredients. I realized I was washing my face with a product that has aluminum. Look at the product ingredients to make your life easier with starting your skincare routine. 

Look up more research to know all the ingredients to avoid in your skincare products. 

Look At The Products That Didn’t Work For You To Find Similarities

When I would use a skincare product that didn’t work for me I would just throw it out and say “ Well that didn’t work” without thinking about what caused it to not work. Then I kept buying products that ended with the same results. I realized I should look at the ingredients of the products that didn’t work before to see if there were any similarities. There were a lot of similarities between them. I found out what ingredients I should avoid in my skincare products and what caused me irritation. Instead of throwing products away look at the ingredients to see if there’s any similarities which caused you problems. This will help avoid buying products with the same ingredients as other products that didn’t work.

Use Products  In The Right Order

Sometimes your skincare routine doesn’t  work because you’re applying them in the wrong order. Your skin products work for you but you’re not applying then correctly which can cause unnecessary problems. I have this problem with applying products without looking at the direction on how to apply it correctly.  There is a certain way of using products and we need to be able to follow them. We can’t just put products on and hope for the best. You have to read the directions even if you think you know how. It’s like buying furniture from IKEA and not looking at the directions which it came with. It would look like a wobbly mess and wouldn’t function right. Skincare is just like that but instead of wobbly mess, you would have irritated skin. And instead of not functioning right,  you would have more acne. Have your products line up in the right order when you apply them.

  2. Scrub
  3. Cleanser 
  4. Toner
  5. Serums, Mist, or Essence
  6. Spot Treatment 
  7. Moisturizer 
  8. Face Oil

Embrace Being An Introvert

An introvert is someone that is often quiet, reserved, and shy. But it doesn’t mean they don’t talk to people. In the workplace or school, we are very friendly but our friendships don’t extend from there. They like to be alone and get socially drained when talking to people. You’ll be surprised to know that there are a lot of people that are like this. To other people’s eyes, introverts are awkward or have social anxiety but in reality, they can be very outgoing people. It can be hard to know if someone is an introvert because they have two personalities. I classify as being one and I like to share some tips to embrace being an introvert. 

Tell People You Are One

The first step to embrace being an introvert is to tell people you are one. People need to know you are an introvert so they understand you more. Let’s say you were talking to your friend at school and then they text you outside of school but you sound uninterested in the conversation. Most likely they would think you don’t like them. Telling them you are an introvert, will make them understand why your conversation outside of school is like that. If you don’t tell them, you have a chance of losing a friend.

Tell People When You Don’t Want To Go Out

For an introvert, going to places is very draining. You’re forced to socialize with people even though you didn’t want to go out. And even if you say you don’t want to go then your friends would think you don’t want to go anywhere. To fix this issue, tell them how you feel so they understand you. Communicate with your friends so you are not sounding apathetic towards them. We all have those days that we feel like being alone so don’t stress.

Get Out Your Comfort Zone Make a New Friend

Being an introvert can get lonely sometimes. So we have to force ourselves to make friends. Even though small talk is annoying, we have to do it to have a relationship with people. We can’t be alone all the time so step out of your comfort zone and make a new friend. You will probably think it’s easier to be alone but we all need someone to talk to. While making a friend tell them that you are an introvert to make it easier for them to understand your personality. This will help them not worry about you not communicating with them outside of the workplace or school. 

Introverts are not always quiet, reserved, and shy. We introverts have to learn how to explain to people how we feel and how we communicate. Confidence Boosters

It can be hard to find confidence in yourself because social media defines beauty standards. Social Media shows influencers that are tall, skinny, and have clear skin. But in reality, people don’t look like that. I have acne, stretch marks, and uneven skin. I get frustrated at the fact that I don’t see enough representation of what an everyday person looks like. So, I started working on having confidence in myself. I have been using these tips for the longest time and they work for me. I decided for this week’s blog to be about confidence boosters that worked for me over the years. 

Take More Photos of Yourself

Taking photos of yourself helps you get used to your face and body. This idea will help you find the physical features you like the most. I take photos with me being silly, using different lighting, and having different angles. I sometimes have photoshoot days where I plan what outfit, makeup, and scenery I want to do. This will also help you with being more photogenic in pictures. Over time you wouldn’t care so much about how you look because you see your true beauty.

Have Deep Selfcare Day

Deep self-care day is a day out of the week where you take care of yourself and do things only for yourself. Some examples are doing face masks, painting nails, and meditation. Pick a day that you have nothing to do and take care of yourself. I usually choose Sundays because it makes me feel confident for the week to come. On these days it’s meant for you to release any built-up stress you have. Having deep self-care days will give you confidence and happiness. 

Eating Healthier and Working Out

Eating healthier and working out can make you lose weight but I use it more for better skin and gaining muscle. Doing this will also help with mental health. When eating healthy sometimes you don’t lose weight but instead, you’ll see clear skin. I don’t recommend using diets that slim down calorie intake if you are at a healthy weight. Having the correct amount of calories will help you stay healthy. Working out 10 to 30 mins a day will improve your body like when eating the right foods. The app that I use to workout is Workout Women. The app has different types of workouts you can do and even has different difficulty levels so it does matter if you are a beginner or advanced. It also tracks how many calories you lose every workout.

Trying New Things

Starting new activities will help to find something that you are passionate about. Examples are playing sports, writing, drawing/painting, and playing instruments. I believe that people should find an activity they love so they can find love in themselves. If people don’t find an activity to do they tend to not appreciate themself. To find an activity you can start by reading books and articles on the topic. This will help to find something without investing money in that activity if you decide you don’t like it.

5 Things You Shouldn’t Do In High School

As a high school senior myself, I was thinking of ways to help the incoming freshmen that has no idea what high school is really like. High School now is way different from high school in the past. Since now we have social media to express ourselves, you can’t ask your parents for advice. And I know when I was a freshman I would read articles that told me what an adult’s high school advice was that went to high school years ago. Even though the times have changed, freshmen should know what high school is like in the 21st century. When I was a freshman, I just moved to a new city and did not know anyone. So throughout the years of high school I have made my mistakes with making friends. You do not have to take my advice, but I think it will help you if you are looking for some help.

Going To Every Party

Now you probably think it’s an easy thing to know, but it’s harder now since you have Snapchat and Instagram with people posting about how “lit” their party is going to be. And if you decide to not go, you’ll see people posting how fun it was. But believe me when I say that these people are just trying to do it to impress other people. Some parties, if you do not know the person who is hosting personally, have drugs and alcohol. It is also sometimes really dangerous if you don’t know anyone there. In my school, there were parties every week and since I have a strict mother, it was easy for me to say no. But I recommend that you go to a party where you know the host or you have friends that are going. Realize the risk of alcohol, drugs, and police if you do decide to go to a party. Parties distract people from not doing well in school. When you are caught up with parties it will lead to bad grades. So I recommend you to pick and choose what parties you want to go to and not every party. 

Hangout With Only One Friend Group

When you are in high school you would see a lot of friend groups and you might be in one. Or you will have that one close friend that you hang out with most of the time. But if you hang out with the same group of people, it can lead to a lot of drama or you not trying to make any other friends. I had many friend groups, and it was either people that had the same classes as me or even the same sport I played. And the problem with some of those friend groups is that most of them didn’t have other friends which lead to friends depending on other friends or even jealousy between friends. I was sometimes the one friend in the friend group that hung out with different people and if a friend group didn’t work out I had other friends. Even though you want to have that one main friend group there will always be clashes between each other and you should have other friends.

Having A Partner The Center of Your Universe

I don’t recommend being in a relationship but if you decide to have one you shouldn’t let him or her be the center of your universe. What I mean by that is don’t let them control or change you. I have seen so many relationships that change people to the worst. They would always hang out with their partner and not their friends. The couple will usually lose their friends and sometimes get bad grades. Since high school relationships don’t last long, they become depressed zombies that cry all the time and walk around moody. You shouldn’t let your partner be the reason you exist but instead someone that is an extension of your life that you don’t need. I honestly think it’s all a waste of time because you should be focused on school and not worrying about having a relationship. 

Being In Friends Drama

This is the most important tip that you shouldn’t follow. There are too many stories I could tell with this topic. If there’s a fight between friends then don’t get involved. I feel that people know they shouldn’t be involved in other people’s business but can’t control themselves. Having friends fight is uncomfortable and awkward. If you decide to get involved, it would make a bigger issue than it was actually. And there’s a high chance of losing one of them or even both. It’s very common for high schooler to focus on other people and themselves. I never fully understood why people cared about what happens to other people’s “tea” if it doesn’t involve them. I would have a problem with one of my friends and then at the end it would seem I have a problem with three other people at once. It bothered me how people don’t fully understand that you shouldn’t be involved in an issue that doesn’t include you in it.

Following Other People

I know that an incoming freshman would probably want to try to fit in but following other people is not healthy. I do understand that it could be hard making friends and not trying to look like the odd one out. But following other people can lead to an identity crisis and hatred toward yourself. I have seen my friends go through not loving themselves for the way they are and follow other people to make them happy. I was introvert in school and I thought that was the reason it was hard for me to make friends. But then I embraced that part of me which made me make genuine friends. If you stay true to yourself it would make you happier throughout high school.

High school should be enjoyable. I am glad I experienced all these struggles of high school to help the upcoming freshmen that hopefully don’t have to deal with these types of issues. Remember high school is not your whole life so don’t let these years impact you. I hope these five things you shouldn’t do helped you in your high school journey.
