Best Movies To Watch For This Halloween

Halloween is around the corner, and I wanted to make a Halloween themed blog post. When I was little, I have to admit that this holiday wasn’t my favorite. I use to disliked sweets and the stress of thinking of a custom. As I got older, I enjoyed dressing up, decorating, and watching scary movies. Halloween is now one of my favorite holidays, and I like to share my favorite movies you should watch this Halloween week.

Animation

When I was little, these were my go-to movies to watch on Halloween. These movies that are listed below are very dark for kid movies, and I wouldn’t consider them as one. Think about it; Coraline has people that try to sew buttons on the main character’s eyes. And Monster House is about a house that tries to eat children. I don’t know, but even though these were my favorite movies, I was scared of them. These movies could be watched again and again without getting bored with them. I love these Animated films, and I still watch them today.

Fantasy

Sometimes we don’t feel like being scared, and that’s fine. So, listed down below are movies that will give you nostalgia and nowhere scary. It has been a while since I watched these movies, but every time I watch them, they are still delightful. They remind me of how I was a child watching movies during October. So if you don’t like scary movies, then these are great classics for you this Halloween season.

Halloweentown

Casper

Sci-Fi

Science Fiction movies are one of my favorite movies to watch. The thing is, I never consider sci-fi movies to be scary or perfect for the Halloween season. But I guess when you have alien-looking creatures or having a government national purge holiday, it would be considered perfect for Halloween. These movies that I have listed are range in scare level. Some are scary, and then some are not scary at all. But most are taken place in the future where the world is in pretty bad shape.

E.T.

A Quiet Place

The Invisible Man

The Purge

Birdbox

Horror

My definition of horror movies is just random killings. Such as the movies listed down below. Don’t get me wrong, these are great movies, but they randomly have violence. I love these types of films because it doesn’t need a lot of thought behind it (an exception to one). It is a quick scare; then you move on. Horror movies are the OG’s when it comes to Halloween. They will always be the movies coming out in October. But here are my favorite horror movies you should watch if you haven’t already.

Midsommer

Released July 3, 2019 and Directed by Ari Aster

The Boy

Released Jan. 20, 2016 and Directed by William Brent Bell

Carrie

Released Nov. 3, 1976 and Directed by Brian De Palma

Gremlins

Released June 3, 2019 and Directed by Joe Dante

Child’s Play

Released Nov. 9, 1988 and Directed by Tom Holland

Thriller

Thriller is one of the most adrenaline-filled genres to watch for me. Here’s the thing, every time I watch one it, makes me feel anxious while also being excited. I feel like they are scarier than paranormal movies. They are considered psychologically scary. Which means it requires more thinking and understanding of what’s happened while being scared. The movies I listed down below will make you feel that way. Even though these movies are very packed with suspense and anxiety, I still enjoy them.
