If you haven’t noticed, I have been gone for a month. And for the people who don’t follow me on my Instagram, you probably thought I quit together. But no, I’m still here and alive. So for this week’s blog, I’m going to talk about why you should take a break.
Why?

If you are a blogger, like me, you would understand how planning, writing, editing a blog post is stressful. It takes up a lot of your time including, how blogging is not your whole life. Some of us have school, careers, and kids; makes it harder to blog every week. It can also feel like blogging is a full-time job that does pay (for me, at least). Many of us have other social media accounts, which add to the stress of updating every week on those platforms more frequently.
For example, I post on IG three days a week and post one blog every week. I have to plan three IG posts before the week and write a blog post every weekend since I’m a full-time student. Which is a reason why I don’t post on weekends. Some people post even more blogs in a week than I do. We have a lot to balance in life and it is hard to continue when you feel like you are starting to burn out to the point of not enjoying it anymore. So I really recommend taking a break.
Benefits
Reflection

When you are in a life where everything is going fast, and there is not a complete stop, you do not realize how much you over-work. When you take a break, you have time to reflect on what you have been doing. Reflecting so important, which I talk about more in this blog post, but have you truly reflected on things you probably thought were good. When you are a workaholic, most likely you would not think of it being wrong. You don’t realize how this can affect your body. Reflecting helps notice the behavior of those you think are good and correct them. It helps understand how you can do things differently, so you don’t go back to that state.
Avoid Burnouts

Burnout is the worst feeling. You don’t feel like doing anything, and you are overwhelmed with life. You are emotional, physical, and mentally exhausted caused by excessive and prolonged stress. If you do not address it, then burnout can make it difficult for you to function well in your daily life. Taking a break helps avoid the possibility of getting one. Which happened to me. I felt like I was getting one, so I forced myself to do an unplanned relaxed break. You can tell if you are on the verge of getting one when you feel numb to your work and metally drained or unable to cope with life. Taking a break will help with the stress that you have and avoid burnout altogether.
Taking care of yourself more often.

When taking a break, you start to take care of yourself more. Since there isn’t anything better to do, you can start working on yourself. For me, I started doing more meditation to make myself healthier. You can start doing other activities that help your overall life. This can be journaling more, taking yoga days, or reading self-development books. This will help your life feel balanced and help with stress. Not only is it great to do it on breaks, but you can also continue doing it in moderation after your time off. Having the break to take care of yourself more will help find activities that you like to help with your stress and overwhelmedness.
