Four Ways to Enhance Your Creativity

Creativity is an outlet of inspirational ideas that make the world beautiful. When you have that creative spark, no one can stop you but the power of your mind’s ability to block your thinking patterns. I have experienced a creative block, and it can be hard to finish things that you wish you had inspiration for. Learning ways to improve your creativity will help dismiss creative blocks more quickly and effectively. So here my four simple tips to enhance your creativity.

Read Books

Reading, simply as it is, is one of the easiest ways to boost creativity. Reading exercises the mind making you have different perspectives. Reading opens our minds to new possibilities, and new ideas help us experience and analyze the world through other’s lives or views.

Mediate

Sometimes when we do not feel inspired, it is because of our minds being too busy. To fix this, I like to meditate. Also does not require a crazy amount of time either. In the beginning, you should start with a 5-minute meditation and then up it whenever you feel comfortable. Mediation heightens the state of awareness and focused attention. It also helps with reducing stress and control anxiety. I recommend using the clam app, Spotify, and Youtube for meditation exercises.

Change Your Environment

Organizing or changing your environment can help enhance your creativity. Just moving to a new location can help with finding inspiration. The reasoning for this to be effective is due to new ideas arise from an interconnection of old ideas. When moving to a new environment, this helps those interconnections of thinking thoughts and combinations that you’ve never experienced before. You can even do little things to boost your creative like adding or removing an object in your environment.

Take A Step Back

When you have a creative block, it is good to take breaks from that activity then come back to it. If you’re like me, you despise doing this because it takes time away from the task, but this will help find creativity faster than just looking at it. While being distant, look at the situation as if it’s not your problem but someone else. This can help trick the brain into finding a solution since it’s not your problem. This method helped me find better ideas and solutions to obstacles that I wouldn’t think of before.
